On July 1, 2001, the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) became the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). It's more than just a new name - it's an increased emphasis on responsiveness to beneficiaries, providers, and quality improvement.
In the past, policies and procedures were subject to HCFA Regulations. These regulations are now known as CMS*. The Policy & Procedure Manager is a premium tool for managing policies and procedures while showing compliance with CMS Regulations (HCFA Regulations).
CMS Regulations change frequently. With the Policy & Procedure Manager you can link your documents to the relevant CMS regulations and then sort documents by the CMS regulation to which they apply.
The Policy & Procedure Manager is simple, yet functional. When a Medicare auditor arrives, the document control administrator, policy manager, or any employee can quickly take them to any document relating to the CMS standard they are looking for.
